No one should waste resources—our Earth is too precious to us and the generations that follow. Reduce, reuse and recycle are crucial to future generations—today.
Atlas believes that because all paper involves the Earth’s precious natural resources, we must do our best to use these resources wisely and most efficiently.
But we are in the paper business, and it takes natural resources to make the product we provide. We should not waste a single tree—we should not waste a sheet of paper. Sustainability ensures that we think and act in a responsible manner now and for the future. It is a value we live every day.
To produce 1 ton of paper, approximately 1 m³ of wood is required. Therefore Atlas takes necessary actions to be effective in the use of paper. Atlas transfers the scrap of paper out of manufacturing operations to a certified recycling company Donkasan.
- Those recycled paper can be turned into new paper so new trees don't have to be cut down, thus decreasing wildlife.
- Recycled papers save our valuable natural resources, save energy, save our trees, create less toxic bi-products, and help our over-crowded landfills.
- Energy consumption is reduced by recycling. Recycling one ton of paper saves about 4,000 kW·h of electricity.
- Recycling 1 ton of paper eliminates 3 cubic meters of landfill.
- Recycling causes 35% less water pollution and 74% less air pollution than making virgin paper
